With more than 25 years of experience across oil & gas, technology, and energy supply chain environments, James brings deep expertise in procurement strategy, global commodity management, and mission-critical operations. Prior to joining Americase, he spent nearly five years with Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he led large-scale procurement and supply chain initiatives supporting data center infrastructure. As Senior Global Commodity Manager, he managed more than $2B in annual battery backup unit (BBU) spend. Earlier, as Senior Category Manager, he directed procurement strategy for environmental, health, and safety services across North American data centers during a complex regulatory transition.
James is known for connecting commercial strategy with engineering and compliance realities—ensuring high-growth energy initiatives are supported by disciplined supply chain execution and risk mitigation. His leadership has contributed to more than $100 million in supplier savings and the implementation of a global battery recycling program achieving broad international alignment.
He holds an MBA in Finance & Business Modeling from the University of Houston and is both a Six Sigma Black Belt and APICS CPIM-certified professional. He also contributes to the SAE J2950 regulatory committee, reinforcing his commitment to advancing industry standards and operational excellence.
