Paula Reavis is an experienced hazardous materials and dangerous goods transportation trainer and the owner of Reavis Compliance Company. She partners with HazMat Safety Consulting to deliver comprehensive, compliance-driven training and consulting services designed to help organizations maintain regulatory alignment throughout the entire shipping lifecycle.
With more than 15 years of experience in the field, Paula is well versed in 49 CFR Parts 100–185, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, and the International Maritime Organization International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. She also maintains strong working knowledge of OSHA HazCom 2012 and WHMIS 2015 requirements. Her approach emphasizes clarity, practical application, and defensible compliance—equipping clients with the knowledge and confidence to meet regulatory obligations across multiple modes of transport.
Paula’s background in education enhances her effectiveness as a trainer. Prior to entering the dangerous goods industry, she served as a high school science teacher and National Board Certified Counselor, bringing structured instruction, communication expertise, and learner-focused methodology to her regulatory training programs.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in Secondary Science Education and Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from East Carolina University. Paula resides in the St. Louis, Missouri area with her husband.
